Norman and Cal started out very differently when I first wrote out the beginnings of BKI. First, Cal used to be a werewolf, and Norman's name used to be Dom. They were going to fight crime as a supernatural detective duo/blossoming gay romance. Maybe it's the furry in me, but I love werewolf stories.
