"Moon" was the winner of this month's theme poll -- and the very first thing I thought of was a mysterious woman sitting on the surface of the moon with long hair floating in low gravity. I sketched out a few other ideas, but this was the ultimately the one I liked the best and ended up finishing.

small life update part 2 -- recovery

So, the surgery was a success (so far) -- unfortunately, there were some issues and they had to make some extra incisions so I am both very sore and very dizzy. I'm having a hard time just sitting at my computer up at the moment, so unless things drastically change in the next couple days, chances are not great that I'll get much done this week. My followup appointment is Friday and I'll find out more then.

small life update / possible delay on new art

I have surgery on Friday and I'll be leaving tomorrow and staying near the hospital overnight. That means this is the last post I'll have this week, and possibly the last post for a little while. 

The recovery process is supposed to be pretty simple -- but anything can happen, so I just wanna temper expectations for next week in case something goes wrong. Fingers crossed that it's a piece of cake and I'm back to work right...

LOVE FOREVER (Needy Streamer Overload)

I played a game this weekend called Needy Streamer Overload. It was edgy and depressing and I think I liked it, but I also don't ever wanna play it again, lol.

The super poppy art style made me want to do something with a similar vibe, so I've spent the past couple days working and reworking this idea. Overall, I don't think I quite got it to where I wanted it, but I can't spend any more time on it than I already have....

This one pushes the stylization the most (maybe too much?), but I love how the water came out! I actually made my own HD version of the water tile sprites from Pokemon Red/Blue, then overlayed that in perspective on the pool water -- and then ended up adding some extra "sparkle" pixels to break it up a bit more naturally.

October Character Poll -- Standalone Piece Theme (2)

I loved designing the Knight of Sin: Lust and her cool sword last month, so I wanted to do another "pick a general theme" piece this month. Trying to keep it spooky for October! But no matter what the theme ends up being, have no doubts that an attractive woman of some kind will be included. 😤

I really like how this turned out! Designing all the little blood demon ladies was fun, plus I enjoyed playing around with the graphical elements to make it pop. It's another one of those pieces where I think to myself, "I hope I'm not the only one who loves this," lol. It's pretty different from the stuff I've been doing lately.

This one will probably take me a couple of days to finish, but I think it's going to be really cool if I can pull it off. "Swords" won the theme poll this month, and my idea was at first to just draw a big sword surrounded by little blood demon ladies. After I sketched that out, though, I realized I wanted to see what kind of character would wield a sword like that--so I designed her!

I love how these turned out! Drawing full bodies is much more comfortable for me in this style than my more realistically-proportioned style, and I still think it's very cute. Hopefully you guys do, too! I want to keep pushing this and see if I can get more dynamic with the poses and more exaggerated with expressions.
