28-31: The cost rises

Littering the alien sands, red-suited bodies lie where they have fallen. The attacking Stormtroops, focused single-mindedly on their mission, know better than to pause in the assault to give succour to the wounded. They are at the walls of the enemy settlement, though it has cost them dearly to fight their way there. There is no time to comfort the dying: Victory must come first!

Angels and Demons

Been a while since I got around to putting anything in here.

This was an attempt at a story that I started about a year ago, but kept getting distracted. Now that it's caught my attention again, I've changed the characters a little and the environment as well, so these scenes will never get finished.

Angels vs Demons

I finally finished off a battle scene I'd been working on ages ago as part of a bigger series that never got past the first few renders. It's caught my attention again though, and over the next few months I'll be re-designing the characters and the setting and eventually creating a story to replace the ones like Elves and Triptychs once they've run their course.

Something borderline heretical...

This week, I've been mostly getting into the weeds of an on-off project I've had on the back-burner for a while now. It's a half-started story that I was half-tempted to dump in the Dungeon, but kept putting it off in case I ever decided to finish it. Now, something's clicked with it, and I've spent the week redesigning the characters, fleshing out the lore and coming up with a story.

To say things have not gone to plan is something of an understatement.

As poor Tirion clutches at the shaft that has pierced her and chokes on the blood that fills her lungs, the noble Glade Knights advance in formation, their shields overlapping like the scales of a dragon as they press forwards, past the bodies of Heulwen and the other fallen Rangers, out onto the grassland.

I really like this bodysuit outfit- It's going to have a starring role in my Scuba story when it's ready to publish, but I've done a few one-off scenes with it as well.

It's been a bit of a busy few weeks, and the weather is too good to stay inside at my computer for too long, but I've managed to get the pieces of another battle scene rendered: Here are some Amazon Marines doing their thing: I'm just deciding whether I can be bothered to do two or three more renders with maybe some reinforcements in canoes, paddling their way towards the jetty.

Second render for May: Another look at the Cavalry outfit I came up with.

Searing energy beans criss-cross the air as the wave of attackers begin to overwhelm the defenders with sheer numbers and weight of fire. Red-suited bodies tumble, screaming soundlessly within the air-tight seals of their bubble helmets.

Elves vs Goblins: 70-74

Panting, the Glade Knights run as a pack, knowing that they will soon draw Goblin shots themselves. Lying in the mud, overcome by the agony of her wound, Sian is splashed with brackish water as the Glade Knights hurry past.

The Goblins have seen them coming, and redirect their shots to this new threat. Tirion is first to fall, as a missile punches clean through her leather corset. The Knights close ranks, raising their big, ele...

Shootout

First render for May: It's the Space Girls again, only with extra accessories, and some distinctly sectoid-like enemies that shoot plasma!

21-24: The second wave

Retro boosters flaring livid orange over the corpse-strewn dust of the alien planet, the Imperial Dropship comes howling in to land.

As its disembarkation ramps drop down in the dirt, the clangour of boot heels on steel rings out as the packed ranks of Storm Troopers spill out into the heart of the battle. Searing alien lasers spear through bodies and running women fall, screaming their agony inside their bulbous helmets.

Accessorising Space Girls

I spent a bit more time messing with this outfit- I'm thinking of them generically as 'Space Girls,' but maybe they're more like a Colony security force or something.

Anyway- I've decided that with their mode of transport, they need hair up or tied back, and they've gained the following accessories:

1) Ear-pieces. No comms, no bombs- everyone knows.

2) Greebles. What the fuck are those things on their belts? I don'...

Fourth render for April: Tier 2 members will have seen me poking around with this outfit over the past few weeks, with an eye to eventually getting a story out of it. I'm not quite settled on the uniform or the enemies yet, so expect further changes.

Underwater camera

Some proof-of-life for the Scuba series: I've been looking again at underwater cameras and this time, I'm a little happier with what I've produced. Post-working effects in GIMP looked good for some scenes and awful in others, and I was struggling to get any sort of consistency.
