Mina Mishra commission

a new commission for simmone.  he wanted his robot shark girl to do a kitty stretch and i wanted more excuses to ink and paint things.  i still need to adjust her head a bit as it is too short and round but i will keep going with the ink. i can probably fix the face with acryla gouache but if not i will just fix the digital and re ink it and this first step can be a study

i have been enjoying the inks and acryla G a lot and i wanted more to print out and paint on so i quickly cleaned up the lines of these 4 just enough so i can finalize them with my favorite inks and pencils

looking through my big pile of sketches to finish i wanted to try painting directly onto the initial sketch and be really broad with my initial brush strokes.  im liking how its starting out

the pencils on these two were almost finished so i finished them.  i do want to paint on both of these as well because it will be fun

after the greys are done the next step will be to glaze some color on with oils. i am both looking forward to that step and scared

new bunny model WIP

using the daz base model i imported it to blender WITH the rig and attached the bunny feet ears and tail now i will need to fix the rig so the new appendages have bones and add better controls.  once that is done i will fix the UV maps so they are all on one island and she will be ready for further morphing

it was a stressful day so i vented by going crazy with freeform sketching

did i mention how much i liked acryla gouache?  it goes down the way i WANT it to and it dries nice and matt so i can scan it easier.  once im done with all the "form rendering" i will punch up the shadows

well i have a whole bunch of these folio images just begging to have their pencil work finished and when done i think i will try to auction them off on my public sites....if i can get past my anxiety about trying that

time to get excited

a few nights ago i was walking around not able to sleep wondering why im having such a hard time getting stuck into my comics. specifically things like bald space monkey.

a little voice im my head said "because you have lost sight to why you started something like 'the daily doe'"

i created the daily doe to make content i would want to buy and so i got excited about that. i need to let myself get excited about the stories...

mar acryla gouache

i was worried that the acryla gouache would not work over the acrylics but turns out it does just fine

i tried using the acryla gouache on the canvas board and found it goes down better then acrylic.  so i will try it for my Mar grey underpainting too

printed out the sketch on 11" by 17" smooth bristol board and went over everything in pencil.  there is something about traditional medium that still seems to have the edge over digital.  so i will pencil out the rest of the book.  i just wonder if i want to use my acryla gouache or digital coloring
