ok i feel better about this now.  last update i was worried that the image felt flat and unfocused, but when i worked in more shadows and refined my color "shapes" the peice started coming together 

im pretty sure all that is left is the "special effects" of paper textures and proper gradients to push some shadows and highlights

M tigress model

here is the model i made for master tigress.  i used Riggify to rig her.  

riggify is a premade rig tool in blender that i always avoided in the past since it looked so intimidating.  but over time i have learned enough about rigging to know what i am looking at and see that its a much better setup then what i had been doing in the past

master tigress study

today i did some studies of master tigress and the artist Guoh 

first i made a stick figure in 3d like my censhi model and copied some poses from the guy to get an approximation of his style

i love mark schultz's work (top two image references)  so i did a study to try and emulate his older style, from Xenozoic tales 13 and 14.  the pencils turned out good but when i tried to ink the image with some nice dark shadows it looked TERRIBLE.  so i toned back the inked lines a bunch and used some watercolor brushes for color.  although i like the result here i need to do more practice on that heavy inked li...

i have been wanting to make some new models for a while.  some for when i go for a more "styleized" effect and i wanted to update Censhi and BanMarr so they have a more pleasing geometry and easier to use rig 

BanMar has not been updated yet but you can see how rough the figure started out especially in the rig

ok the base colors are done using the colorize tool from clip studio

this base was made using the colorize tool in clip studio.  i blob down the basic colors and press the button.  then the computer takes those blobs of colors and makes a nice gradient.   i wish i had known about this tool before i started coloring lagombabe as it would have made both the comic AND the folio a lot easier to finish

i tried finishing off the line work for this folio today because i found a tool in clip studio that make the creation of a base color REALLY easy.  though i was not able to get ALL of them done today

put down some larger swaths of flat color and add more in later "passes"

only about 12 more pages to add the flats and THEN its the final stretch

added the flats to everything that did not have color in the folio and cleaned up the images i was not happy with the color 

the final step will be to add the shadows and highlights.  this particular folio will look a lot like my summertime shesheik in terms of style

rigged by JawSFM

i hired JawSFM to fix my rig because i am terrible at weight painting.  he also added in some cool tools for posing and gave me a lot of pointers and links for tools to make my rigging and modeling process easier.  i will certainly be hiring him again for the rigging interface he programed in because that stuff is WELL beyond me
