even though i had finished the line work on this i went ahead and printed it out.  tweaked some of the line work and refined it some more with a  re-scan

ok so after i finished this line work i printed it out again and i am sketching over it to give it that nice pencil look

ok so today i was cleaning up the line work for 5 other folio images trying to get as much done as possible.  i had the whole 8 image folio open and i kept glancing over this one as i worked.  now i have already posted the finished pencil image with the actual pencil work and i quite liked the effect....however.  i was unsure how much of her pencil texture would stay shown when i painted and if that would be a good effect...

when i was first making the mage kitty i did the 3d first and textured her before i did any design work.  this is the original sketch .  as you can see it just looks like my normal style and i was wanting to try for a more cartoony look.

also next year some bills will be going up so that means i will be shifting some focus back to cranking out folios and a little less on being experimental.  time to get the nose back to...

first i made a 3d figure for her but i was not too keen on the proportions at first so i just drew her from scratch and did the whole print and re-scan process

the hands were a challenge in this one.  i had to scale up them, print them out and redraw them a few times.  once i get the digital line work done i will print it out again. do a final pencil sketch then scan it back in and do some clean up

Pollinating pencil corrections

a few days ago i got a laser printer/ scanner combo and just today i got the scanner part to work properly.  i then printed out the pollinate sketch and started doing some corrections and scanned it back in to do some further edits.  i repeated this a few times until i got the image you see here.  i think it is an improvement and seeing things in the physical helps reveal more mistakes then just seeing on the screen, even...

so i added a lot of stones and dirt to the road because i felt it looked "barren" and it needed more visual diversity to make the town seem more interesting.  let me know what you all think
