Happy Holidays!

It's the end of yet another year! I was looking back on the artworks I've done (to make a year end favorites compilation) and it only now hit me how busy a year it has been; between a bunch of events like the Pixiv workshop, solo exhibition, and a whole lot of freelance work, not to mention the creation and campaign for "The World of Guweiz" (artbook 2) - personal art seemed to have really taken a bit of a back seat.

Midnight Shopping

It was a fun but surprisingly challenging time trying to put this piece together! Sometimes made up poses really don't work quite as expected or envisioned, so it's a lot of scrambling to try and make things appear as 'nice' as possible :) It always serves to remind me there's plenty to learn, and we'll talk more about this on this  month's process walkthrough.

The adventure continues! I'm having more fun with this format of presentation as well, focusing on some more "big moments" and returning to a more illustration based focus for this character.

It's been a while since I had this much fun drawing details, hope you like it as well!
I feel this is a little bit of a return to the old slice of life illustrations I used to do a lot back then, but this time integrating a more serious approach with the style.

Table Manners

Yet another two remasters for the book! We've just unlocked the extra pages stretch goal, which is something I was really looking forward to. It adds on 32 pages to the initial 152 - which not only means being able to include more content, but also that the art has more space to shine i.e more full page spreads!

 The first image was the one I was the most dissatisfied with originally, so I'm really happy that I managed to wrangle the composition into something (I feel is) much nice with a few simple edits. The second frame is a tough one, and I've tried to get it to look more natural, but it might just be a piece I have to fix when I'm more experienced...

Finally finished up this new bit! The lighting was quite a bit harder to manage for frames 1 and 2, as I couldn't use my favorite usual silhouette trick (which I found was quite optimal for dark settings).

An update on the dust covers: I've been notified they will be exclusive for the Kickstarter campaign - so my current plan is to have a more simple, elegant design for the dust cover, but have the full illustration on the actual hardcover.

Another Book Mini Update!

And a couple more artworks that will be in it :) These two pieces didn't go too much change, as I liked them in their original form quite well, so most of the edits were to the character's face in the first image. There are in total about 160+ artworks, so I'm really trying to budget my time out to "upgrade" those I feel more strongly about.

The Bad Guys + Book 2 Mini Update

I think after looking through all the sets I've done (and reworking almost of all them!), this one has to be my favorite - which is also why I really wasn't able to change much of it, aside from some really small things in 3 and 4. They'll definitely be featured heavily in the book, and I'll have the chance to talk a lot more about them in a more lengthy format, which will be really exciting :)
