I'm still drawing a bit.

The solo exhibition has ended successfully, but I'm creating illustrations for mail order sales for those who couldn't attend.

Merchandise and doujinshi will also be available, and a new edition of the Tsuneage Gallery Small Catalog is currently in production.

I'll announce the start of mail order sales on X and other platforms. Stay tuned.

How many more paintings do you think you can do before the end of the exhibition?

I am painting as hard as I can. I hear that there are many people who want to buy my paintings but could not, for which I am grateful and sorry. I will paint as many as I can in the next few days. Thank you very much.

I've been drawing for 30 years and you'd be surprised how often I can't draw the same faces.

Even at my age, I tend to choose a way of drawing that I've never done before, or a way that I'm not good at, thinking that I'll still discover something new, or that I'll still get better at it. And it never turns out to be the same face.

Even the paintings of Lain that I have been drawing for a while now, each face is quite different from the other. Well, I think that's acceptable. One by one, I try my best to keep going stra...

I realize again that “lain” was the standard for my painting.

yoshitoshi ABe's room post I realize again that “lain” was the standard for my painting. from patreon

Basically, I do not paint pictures of completed works unless I am asked to do so. This is because I cannot think about the next work unless I have a closure.

Twenty-five years (or maybe more) have passed since serial experiments lain ended, and I painted quite a few pictures of Reine again for this solo exhibition, and I realized once again that this character was the standard for my pictures.

As I tried to draw lain as I...

yoshitoshi ABe's room post Drawing by lain.I want to use watercolor blotting well. from patreon

I am drawing lain for a solo exhibition on watercolor paper of TRAVELER'S notebook.

It is a thick watercolor paper, so it is very good because the paper does not get saggy without water-stretching.

I want to use the unique blotchiness of watercolor as a good effect, so I am trying to paint in a way that the blotchiness is strong, but it is still not quite as I want it to be, and I am still trying to work it out.

I have classes at a university in Kobe starting tomorrow. Right now, I'm taking a break at a hotel a little ways away from the university. I thought I might be able to draw a little at the hotel after class, so I brought some art supplies with me. This is something I drew with a mechanical pencil on Traveler's Notebook drawing paper or watercolor paper.

Today I went to Déesse space caiman shibuya, the venue of my solo exhibition.

In addition to delivering the new colored paper, I fixed the seam between the two panels of the life-size lain.

This painting is of a life-size lain, which is made by joining two panels of about 1.1mm x 0.9m. When I completed the painting and fixed the two p...

Time is flying by at an unbelievable speed. I'm so busy with preparations that I can't make any progress on my new paintings. I will try my best until the very last minute.

In between, I painted a picture on a glass plate with acrylic paints.

Picture I painted today

yoshitoshi ABe's room post Picture I painted today from patreon

Sorry for the delay in posting. This is the painting of June 27.

I made some progress on the painting of lain for my solo exhibition. But when I drew the hands, they were a little small, so I had to redraw the hands while correcting the pose.

With digital, it takes only a few dozen minutes, but with a large panel, it is quite difficult to erase and redraw.

Today's picture. This is yesterday's painting, though I'm late in posting it.

I'm having a hard time putting the colors together. When I want to make the rest of the picture a little bluish, I can do it in an instant with a color adjustment layer if it is digital, but with paints, I have to make a plan and compose the picture at the beginning of painting, or paint over thin colors many times to get the desired color tone little...

between thin and thick paint

yoshitoshi ABe's room post between thin and thick paint from patreon

While painting with acrylics, I made a small discovery about technique.

I’ve only ever used transparent watercolors before, so I’m still inexperienced with acrylics. I haven’t quite grasped the characteristics of the paint yet, and I often end up applying it thinly, as if it were watercolor.

To fix that, I sometimes forced myself to paint thickly, but it was hard to control and often led to frustration.

While I was painting without deciding what to paint, I suddenly thought that the faces of the people looked somewhat like the 1990s.Later, as I continued to draw and erase, that slightly old-fashioned look faded, but what do you mean by "a pattern that looks like the XX century"?

Well, I think that there is clearly such a pattern as a symbol, but even in my own drawings, a slight nuance of line can create a vague atmosphere of ...

Part of it is because I'm on a deadline, but the other part is that when I'm painting with paints, if I don't paint before the screen dries, it gets uneven, and the paints I put out on the palette keep hardening, so I think I should paint until I use up all the paints on the palette, and so on, and the time is sneaking by.......I thought to myself, "I should paint until I use up all the paint on the palette," and the time passed by w...

extra fine pen and watercolor pencil work well together

I bought the watercolor pencils and have been experimenting with them.I used them to make a base for my life-size lain.

No, of course I knew that. It is natural that it takes more time to paint a large picture because you can put more detail into it, but I had thought for a moment that using a large brush would not be so different from painting a small picture with a small brush, up to the point of roughly dividing the colors.

I did it, and it takes a long time anyway. It took me more than an hour just to roughly apply this coat of lain. If it w...

This is the first time I have painted such a large figure. It is more difficult to balance the face than I expected.

I went to Jindai Botanical Park on June 5 because the Shokudai Ookonjak flowers were blooming for the first time in about 10 years.

It is said to be the world's most smelly plant, but the smell only comes out for one day, and it was already over.

There was a jar with gauze containing the stinky ingredient, and I could see it in writing, but the ingredient was already gone and I could only smell a faint, strange odor.

The painting is not progressing as I had hoped. I think I am getting a little too detailed in my observations, and the lines are getting hard due to repeated corrections of details. To fix it, I have been erasing lines that I took the time to draw until they are too thin, and then daring to draw rough lines on them and fix them again ...... repeatedly. I need to relax my shoulders a bit more.

ELDENRING NIGHTREIGN, is now on sale.I have always loved FromSoft games and was looking forward to playing NIGHTREIGN, but I don't have time to play it.

But I don't have time to play it; it takes about 40 minutes per play, and during that time, the game is so hectic that I don't have time to catch my breath, so it's difficult to play it unless I have a coherent amount of time, completely undisturbed.

There are no boxes of the same specifications for mini-mini and mini shikishi. Mini-mini shikishi is held in place by a film, while mini shikishi is wrapped in packing paper and placed in a transparent case.
